YINYING MIAO | HCI Researcher
Hi, my name is Yinying Miao.
I am an HCI PhD student, working with Prof. Eve Hoggan in the Human-centered Computing Section at Aarhus University, on the topic of multi-modal interaction for remote physical artifacts.
My research focuses on how physical, interactive artifacts can enhance sensemaking, interaction, and collaboration. I approach this through methods including Human-Computer Interaction, Physical Computing, and Data-enabled Design.
I previously earned my MSc degree in Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology, where I worked with Dr. Steven Houben. researching the topic of data physicalization. During my time as an MSc student, I worked as a Teaching/Research Assistant (TA/RA) for multiple courses, a research study, and a project squad. I also served as a student representative at the Departmental Council of Industrial Design for two years.
